Mr. Bryan Matsuura has over 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry. His knowledge and expertise span numerous areas, including implementing complex enterprise systems, establishing digital solutions, developing new business operations, and leading operational process improvements. He’s served as a business operations lead and technologist for Electronic Data Systems (a pioneer in technology outsourcing), worked as a Managing Director at Accenture, and served as an Executive Director at Kaiser Permanente.
Mr. Matsuura was one of the executive leads who implemented a new Retiree Health Administration business managing licensed sales representatives who assisted large-employer retirees to better understand and select their healthcare benefit options. Mr. Matsuura led the Electronic Data Interchange operations, which successfully processed over 1.1 billion transactions annually, while reducing the transaction error rate from 5% to less than 1%. He led various enterprise-wide program management organizations successfully implement diverse regulatory (ICD-10, Interoperability, Price Transparency, and HR133) and digital programs. As part of this work, he guided the successful implementation of one of the most complex and comprehensive digital solutions in the healthcare industry, including an operational and organizational shift from traditional waterfall methodology to Agile.
Mr. Matsuura has also served multiple terms as a board member and commissioner for the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), as well as the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC).
