CitiusTech was a proud Platinum Sponsor at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Information Management Symposium 2015 in Amelia Island, Florida. The CitiusTech Payer Team was at the event and exchanged ideas with Blues leaders and other healthcare professionals who attended. We would like to thank and congratulate the BCBS Florida team for organizing a successful show this year.
The event was a very well rounded one with an agenda focused on the importance of innovation in solving the challenges in the healthcare industry. Some of the key themes covered in the event were:
- HIX (Healthcare Insurance Exchange) Enrollment – HIX enrollment is of growing importance to the Blues. There is increased focus on implementing the right technology for managing retail enrollment (from targeting to retention of members)
- Business Intelligence and Analytics – Plans need to make use of analytics for quality reporting, fraud detection, financial intelligence and consumer behavior insight
- Improving member relationship – The Blues are focusing on providing members a well-rounded experience with a better combination of cost, quality, access, and service
- Improved data management – Health plan technology leaders are looking for ways to utilize the data from sources like EMR, labs, pharmacy, etc., and to address challenges of data quality.
A special thanks to Dr. William Winkenwerder Jr., a member of the Board of Directors at CitiusTech, for conducting the session on “How to innovate and adapt to the changing landscape of healthcare industry”. The session attracted a full house with engaging interaction on healthcare industry trends and the growing importance of technology as an enabler.
